Title

Introduction

Due to its suitable photophysical properties TPPS4 was intensively studied as a potential sensitizing agent inducing photochemical reactions in biological environments [1].

A remarkable feature of this porphyrin is that in acidic solution it molecules forms the so-called J-aggregates. However, the details about the structure and formation of these aggregates are not revealed completely.

The aim of the present study was to investigate the formation conditions and the structure of the J-aggregates of TPPS4.
