Why do you call your objects in Fig. 4A/B TPP aggregates? They have the appearance of microcrystals and are larger than nanoparticles. If these are indeed crystals I would use crystallization instead of self-assembling. Did you compare your microcrystals with bulk crystals of TPP in view of their optical properties? If there are differences, these might be elucidated with AFM, SNOM, nanoindenter, etc. Even chemical exchange reactions on the micrometersurfaces might be studied. Of course, nanoparticles in the 10 to some 100 nm range would be interesting.
