Hematogenous Spread
Cells of a primary tumor (yellowish area, left side) penetrate into blood
vessels (blue arrow, left side).
They get passively transported in the blood vessels to distant sites of
the body.
At a distant site the cells penetrate the vessel wall again (blue arrow,
right side) in order to build
the basis for a new tumour growth at that site
(yellowish area, right side).
